There is a small minority of Celtic fans who are not happy with Kasper Schmeichel.
There is however no doubt that Schmeichel is still an excellent goalkeeper, and I'm a huge fan of him.
It does seem likely though that he will be away at the end of the season, if not in Janaury if the right offer was in for him.
Celtic have had their fingers burned in the past trying to sign good goalkeepers - it is difficult to cope with the pressure of playing at Celtic - Magnus Hedman & Vasilis Barkas spring to mind.
For that reason, even Schmeichel does leave, Celtic will almost certainly be signing another goalkeeper to compete with Vilijami Sinisalo.
Here are 6 emerging goalkeepers Celtic could target, all of whom would be available from £500k-£5m.
Patrick Schulte, 24, £3m
This would be my number 1 choice. Goalkeeper, 3 caps for America, 1.93 in height so is a giant of a man, already an MLS Cup Winner with 109 MLS games under his belt. Looks an excellent goalkeeper. This is the American Donnarumma.
Fedor Lapoukhov, 22, £1.25m
This would be my joint 2nd choice. Belarusian first choice goalkeeper with 14 caps, & CSKA Sofia goalkeeper. This guy looks a real top goalkeeper - has shades of both Artur Boruc & Rab Douglas about him so very much fits the bill.
Levi Ntumba, 24, £150k
Ntumba is classic moneyball! Goalkeeper, French youth international, went to Bulgaria for guaranteed gametime, and according to SofaScore has been Slavia Sofia's best player with a whopping 87% save percentage. Looks an absolutely sensational goalkeeper & would available for cheap. Should be all over this one.
Svetoslav Vutzov, 23, £2m
Levski Sofia goalkeeper, 10 caps for Bulgaria. 20 clean sheets in 27 games this season is sensational form. Would be an excellent signing.
Noel Törnqvist, 23, £2m
Goalkeeper. Seasoned goalkeeper through Swedish youth levels. Already brought into Sweden squad. Looks a top level goalkeeper. On loan at Mjallby from Como - the fact he is at Como shows he has already been spotted, but if available for the right price is one to look into.
