Owning trade marks for business names and products are a very useful way for a business to improve the financial value of the business, ‘To that effect the mark has an inherent economic value which is independent and separate from that of the goods or services for which it is registered... the reputation of a mark is the result of considerable effort and investment on the part of its proprietor’. para 36
