‘I can see no satisfying reason why, in principle, the presence of a fixed machine emitting into a workplace noise of such a level as to endanger the hearing of those who have to work there, should not, subject to the question of reasonable practicability, infringe the statutory provisions relied upon’, Lord Maxwell
